Cessnock Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade

EPCO Australia provided consultative services during the design stage of the upgrade prior to tenders being called. In 2005 EPCO Australia was awarded the contract to supply equipment for the upgrade of the treatment works. EPCO Australia's contract which covered a large part of the total mechanical equipment to be installed consisted of four distinct processes, namely:

Primary Sedimentation - two 16m diameter primary peripheral drive clarifier mechanisms.
Biological Trickling Filters (rotary distributors) - four trickling filter mechanisms to suit suit 30.8m diameter trickling filter beds.
Secondary Sedimentation - 22m diameter secondary humus clarifier
Primary sludge digestion equipment incorporating a 13m diameter floating gas holder roof in the digester tank, sequencing gas lance mixing system, sludge heating system and waste gas burner.
