The Blue Whale (Balaenoptera Musculus) is the largest member of that group of mammals and has a life expectancy of 35 to 80 years. Like most whales its principal food is krill a small crustacean varying in size from 25-60mm in length.

To satisfy its appetite the Blue Whale must filter thousand of tonnes of sea water per day. This makes it a very efficient and long life screening machine.

Compared to most other bar screens, the Blue Whale Microbar Screen is unique in that it can be supplied with a screen bar gap as small as 1mm up to 5mm.

The unit is manufactured from stainless steel throughout and displays several features which ensure longevity and efficient operation, such as:

* Hinged Cushion Rake system offers overload protection to the mechanism and resets automatically after the overload is removed.
* Self aligning guides ensures the correct alignment of tooth to bar rack, which is so essential for the operation of superfine raked screens.
* Self tensioning of scraper chains with chain tension varying according to applied rake load.
* UHMW polythene used for chain guide rakes thus greatly reducing drive loading and rake chain wear.
* Blue Whale MB screens can be built for Channel dimensions from 400mm wide x 600mm deep up to 2900mm wide x 7000mm deep.
* The Blue Whale screen can be adapted to suit discharge of screening into any of the well known brands of screening presses and bagging devices.
