Applications - UV Sterilisation

Ultra Violet Sterilisation (UV) is one of the processes used for the disinfection of drinking water or treated wastewater.

Unlike chlorine, UV does not impart any residual taste into the water stream.

Like all other disinfection methods, the cleaner the effluent to be treated, the better will be the level of disinfection achieved.

Environmentally UV is a superior solution, as it does not produce any carcinogenic residuals nor does it produce any potentially harmful gases as is the case with ozonation.

To be able to make an equipment recommendation best suited to your site's requirements, we need the following data:

  • Is the liquid to be treated drinking water or treated effluent
  • Liquid flow rate
  • Effluent pressure
  • Level of disinfection required
  • Location of the site.
